Volume I present an important exposition of some of the most significant areas where particle characterization is applied. The technological fields include pharmaceutical materials, bulk solids, and explosions.
The first section of volume II deals with both theory and methods of morphological analysis, it then discusses data analysis, and finally, the applications.
This volume, based on the 1977 NSF Residential Advanced Particle Morphology Workshop, covers the principle developments in this new and rapidly evolving field. The divergent fields of interst of the authors reflect the prosepcts for the wide application of particle morphology analysis and include: many branches of science and engineering concerned with fine particles, information processing, life sciences, pharmacy, and food technology.
Vortex Flow presents a detailed description of the natural phenomena of vortices, fundamental concepts, and applications of the vortex flows. Numerous figures and examples illustrate concepts presented in this interesting book for mechanical, chemical, powder, and aeronautical engineers and engineering students.
College teacher Andy moonlights in industrial spookery for Dr Hua. FBI's Reg entraps Andy, protects him, shares the profits. Hua tasks Andy for secret missile plans from Colonel Lennard. Reg stages Lennard's suicide - he might expose them. As Andy is working in London, extortionists stage a bomb explosion. Reg discovers two insiders. They murder him. CIA man, Ron tells Andy. Later, Andy tells Ron he'll find a nice girl, and settle down. Has Andy changed his spots?
This book is one in a series dedicated to fine particle science and technology. Topics covered in the book include the role of definitions, concepts, hypothesis, and laws; morphological analysis of fine particles and surfaces; analytical three-dimensional representations of particle and surface morphologies; the problem of invariance with respect to rotational transformations, as well as transformations characterized by reflection and inversion; matrix mechanics of particle characterization; and general applications of morphological analysis in other areas of science.
Like most people, my knowledge of what my ancestors did or didn't do is sparse. It would have taken little effort to have left even a page explaining who they were and what they did in life. I wrote this book so that you, my descendents might know something of one of their forebears. There might be a useful lesson in there somewhere, if you care to read it.
Dean Lacertus terminates chemistry professor Grigund's group for no educational need. Trotting down the rear steps, chairman Vincent trips over a wire. Unconscious, he's savagely beaten to death. Lacertus, signs 9 dismissals, collapses at his party, dying later. Vincent's bits are found - Grigund's charged with murder. Coroner finds ricin in exhumed body of Lacertus.
