Kentucky Soldiers of the War of 1812
Here is the primary reference source for the names and service records of upwards of 20,000 Kentucky soldiers and officers, both regular and militia, who served in the War of 1812. The muster rolls are laid out in tabular format by regiment and company, and thereunder the names are arranged by rank, with records of dates of appointment or enlistment and remarks such as when discharged, deceased, etc. As the official roster, this work was ordered to be compiled and printed by an Act of the Kentucky General Assembly, the number not to exceed 300 copies. The original records are now in the custody of the Kentucky Military Department, Frankfurt. To the work as originally published we have added an Index, completely lacking in the original. Our reprint is further enhanced by the inclusion of an Introduction by G. Glenn Clift which sets forth the background, location, and other sources of the records of the War of 1812 for the State of Kentucky.

Settlers by the Long Grey Trail
A contribution to old Augusta County and Rockingham County and their descendants of the family of Harrison and allied lines. Rev. Thomas Harrison (1619-1682), an intimate of the Cromwell family, served as chaplain of the Virginia colony during Gov. Berkeley's first term. He immigrated to Jamestown, Virginia from England in 1640 and, changing from anti-Puritan to Puritan, moved to Massachusetts and marrying Dorothy Symonds about 1648/1649. He then returned to England. Benjamin Harrison, his brother, then immigrated to become the founder of the Harrison family of the James River in Virginia. Other colonial Harrisons who immigrated are detailed, along with many of their descendants and relatives, particularly those who settled in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Long Island of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Descendants and relatives also lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Kentucky, California and elsewhere. Kentucky Marriage Records
Except for a series of newspaper abstracts by G. Glenn Clift, this volume contains every list of marriages known to have been published in "The Register of the Kentucky Historical Society" since 1903. The following nineteen of Kentucky's oldest counties are represented, some of which, either in whole or in part, spawned a great many later counties: Barren, Bourbon, Christian, Floyd, Franklin, Grant, Greenup, Hardin, Lawrence, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Pike, Shelby, Union, and Woodford. Based on courthouse records--primarily marriage bonds, licenses, ministers' returns, and marriage registers--the combined lists, which are fully indexed, contain references to approximately 50,000 persons!
