Pertanian merupakan sumber kehidupan primer bagi manusia dan pertanian juga selain untuk menjawab kebutuhan perut ia juga menyediakan lapangan kerja bagi generasi muda yang cenderung dalam bidang pertanian. Bahkan sudah waktunya kita harus gerakan cepat (gercep) mengetahui akan esensi pertanian, bahwa yang dimaksud dengan pertanian itu yang sering kali terngiang bagi publik “bercocok tanam” namun yang perlu diketahui arti pertanian dalam dialogis sehari-hari sering memang disebut dengan istilah “Pertanian dalam arti sempit” pada hal pertanian juga memlikin pengetahuan atau definisi yang lebih luas yang meliputi bercocok tanam (pertanian dalam arti sempit), perikanan, peternakan, perkebunan, kehutanan, pengolahan hasil bumi dan pemasaran hasil bumi. Berdasarkan atas definisi tersebut, maka dalam ilmu pertanian atau bidang pertanian sangat lazim dilakukan perbedaannya baik dalam arti sempit dan luasnya.

REGENERASI PETANI DAN KEBUTUHAN TENAGA KERJA USAHATANI PADI
Regenerasi petani merupakan syarat bagi terwujudnya pertanian berkelanjutan. Pelaku pertanian yang berkesinambungan dapat menjamin ketersediaan pangan bagi generasi sekarang dan generasi yang akan datang. Regenerasi pelaku pertanian penting bagi terwujudnya ketahanan pangan di masa depan. Untuk menjamin hal tersebut ditentukan oleh keberadaan petani muda saat ini. Regenerasi pelaku pertanian penting bagi terwujudnya kedaulatan pangan yang terkait dengan kemampuan memenuhi kebutuhan pangan secara mandiri, pemenuhan pangan bisa saja melalui impor, namun hal ini sangat riskan. Pada buku “Regenerasi Petani dan Kebutuhan Tenaga Kerja Usahatani Padi” ini nantinya akan dijelaskan mengenai fenomena atau keadaan yang terjadi pada regenerasi petani dan juga kebutuhan kerja petani yang berfokus kepada tiga tujuan utama yakni untuk mengkaji kondisi petani padi, mengkaji regenerasi petani padi dan menganalisis kebutuhan tenaga kerja usahatani padi di Kecamatan Denpasar Barat. Melalui buku referensi ini kami harap akan mampu menambah pengetahuan serta wawasan pembaca terkait bagaimana kondisi regenerasi petani dan kebutuhan kerja yang dibutuhkan oleh petani.
Human Impacts at a Planetary Scale
As humans, we have remarkable capacity to collaborate, building global infrastructure that connects financial, political and social systems. However, having scaled our infrastructure globally, planetary boundaries have been exceeded in multiple directions. To protect Earth, we now face a task to transition both philosophically and technologically to lifestyles that seek to restore critical functions of natural ecosystems so that we, and other species on the planet, can survive. This is a mammoth challenge that will require changes in the jobs of hundreds of millions of people and a shift in ethic and legislation toward ecological protection and restoration. This book explores the motivations of human society, our global infrastructure and legislation. It highlights various systems and challenges that are contributing to ecosystem and species loss, and documents some of the solutions being offered. The interconnectivity of all these things is evident given the overlapping themes throughout the various sections, and the book serves to collectively highlight some of these major challenges and the locked-in nature of our systems so that we can address them.
