Regenerasi petani merupakan syarat bagi terwujudnya pertanian berkelanjutan. Pelaku pertanian yang berkesinambungan dapat menjamin ketersediaan pangan bagi generasi sekarang dan generasi yang akan datang. Regenerasi pelaku pertanian penting bagi terwujudnya ketahanan pangan di masa depan. Untuk menjamin hal tersebut ditentukan oleh keberadaan petani muda saat ini. Regenerasi pelaku pertanian penting bagi terwujudnya kedaulatan pangan yang terkait dengan kemampuan memenuhi kebutuhan pangan secara mandiri, pemenuhan pangan bisa saja melalui impor, namun hal ini sangat riskan.
