Frontiers in Ecology, Evolution and Complexity
Advances in molecular biology, remote sensing, systems biology, bioinformatics, non-linear science, the physics of complex systems and other fields have rendered a great amount of data that remain to be integrated into models and theories that are capable of accounting for the complexity of ecological systems and the evolutionary dynamics of life. It is thus necessary to provide a solid basis to discuss and reflect on these and other challenges both at the local and global scales. This volume aims to delineate an integrative and interdisciplinary view that suggests new avenues in research and teaching, critically discusses the scope of the diverse methods in the study of complex systems, and points at key open questions. Finally, this book will provide students and specialists with a collection of high quality open access essays that will contribute to integrate Ecology, Evolution and Complexity in the context of basic research and in the field of Sustainability Sciences.

There are many good books in the market dealing with the subject of allelopathy. When we designed the outline of this new book, we thought that it should include as many different points of view as possible, although in an integrated general scheme. Catálogo florístico de Navarra
Catálogo florístico de Navarra es la primera obra moderna de su género que cubre el territorio de la Comunidad Foral de Navarra. El catálogo viene estructurado por orden alfabético de familias, y dentro de cada una de ellas, se aplica idéntico criterio al género y a las especies/subespecies. En esta obra se enumeran un total de 3073 taxones de flora vascular, de los que 2796 se consideran propios de la flora navarra actual. De cada uno se da el nombre científico aceptado y sus sinónimos; su estatus de presencia en este territorio; origen y ecología; hábitats de importancia comunitaria en los que se puede encontrar -cuando se trata de un taxon característico-; distribución general, en comarcas geográficas y biogeográficas (regiones Alpina, Atlántica y Mediterránea), en este último caso asignando un índice de frecuencia/abundancia; estatus legal de conservación cuando existe; observaciones de índole taxonómica o nomenclatural, errores de citas, localidades relevantes, presencia en el Catálogo español de especies exóticas invasoras, etc.

In 1929, Charles Upson Clark (1875-1960), a history Professor at Columbia University carrying out bibliographic research on the early history of the Americas in the Vatican Library, came across a remarkable illustrated Latin manuscript entitled Libellus de Medicinalibus Indorum Herbis (Little Book of Indian Medicinal Herbs) completed in 1552. The manuscript now known as the Codex Cruz-Badianus (CCB) contained 185 illustrations (phytomorphs) of plants with text that described their medicinal uses.
