Génesis del campo contable colombiano y su incidencia en los estudios contables del primer Externado, 1886-1896
La obra aborda la educación contable del primer Externado (1886-1896), en el contexto de los orígenes mismos del campo contable colombiano y su vínculo con la conformación del proyecto nacional durante el siglo XIX. Aplicando un método hermenéutico -mediante el análisis de manuscritos, manuales de contabilidad de la época, textos de historia y testimonios biográficos y autobiográficos-, fue posible reconstruir los modelos contables colonial y republicano, y su influencia en los prospectos del primer Externado. Así, se discute la modernización de la regulación contable en Colombia, que en sus inicios osciló entre el sistema de cargo y data y la partida doble, cabalgando sobre la contradicción de orden y violencia, haciendo hincapié en la relación que existe entre campo contable y proyecto nacional. Tras analizar el papel central que tuvo la generación del Radicalismo liberal en el primer Externado, la investigación revela quién era Manuel Antonio Noriega y las particularidades de su pensamiento contable, como profesor del Curso de Contabilidad Mercantil, Oficial y Militar, cuyo manual de contabilidad fue imprescindible en la formación contable del alma mater.

La fundación de la Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo fue producto de la voluntad, sabiduría y experiencia de sus tres fundadores: Javier Pulgar Vidal (Perú 1911-2003), Joaquín Molano Campuzano (1913-2006) y Jaime Forero Valdés (1931-2006), quienes asumieron la aventura de emprender la tarea de educar jóvenes en función de las necesidades de un país en formación. Su proyecto innovador y creativo, respondía a un preciso diagnóstico hecho a partir de sus conocimientos.
