Recent Advances in Digital System Diagnosis and Management of Healthcare

Technologically supported healthcare management is beginning to take center stage as advances occur in many aspects of healthcare, involving big data, artificial intelligence, and improved user interfaces. This volume provides a perspective on a number of such advances, ranging from homecare with remote network support and primary homecare to telemedicine application for pediatric cardiology. A special section with chapters on Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) addresses topics in improved human interfaces, intelligent support for better quality home and institutional care, effective big data visualization for decision-makers, and gathering data from multiple sources to support the battle against resistant bacteria.

Tool-supported Identification of Functional Concerns in Object-oriented Code

Concern identification aims to find the implementation of a functional concern in existing source code. In this work, concerns are described, using the Hierarchic Concern Model, as gray-boxes containing subconcerns, inputs, and outputs. The inputs and outputs are used as concern seeds to identify data-oriented abstractions of concern implementations, called concern skeletons. The identification approach is based on context free language reachability and supported by a tool, called CoDEx.

I love the idea of a Smart Internet that lets users improve many parts of their lives, pulling together data and services from around the internet. This won’t happen with large unwieldy programming requirements. . . it will happen because we’re moving towards integrated, simple tasks that users can do on an every day basis. With services available on the cloud, with analytics available, with data that has meaning to the user and not just to some protocol parser - with all of these, users at all levels will be able to do a better job. The users may be small and large enterprises, local governments, individuals, etc. All of this means that as the world is becoming more intelligent, instrum...
