Postępowanie karne w kazusach
Publikacja jest zbiorem kazusów z zakresu postepowania karnego przygotowanych przez dydaktyków i praktyków zajmujących się procesem karnym. Kazusy zostały opracowane w dużej części w oparciu o rzeczywiste stany faktyczne, a zarysowane w ich treści problemy maja swoje odzwierciedlenie w piśmiennictwie i orzecznictwie sadów karnych. Przypadki poprzedzono krótkim wprowadzeniem dotyczącym metodyki rozwiązywania kazusów, aby ułatwić Czytelnikowi korzystanie z książki. W opracowaniu uwzględniono zmiany w prawie karnym procesowym, w tym dokonane ustawą z 7.07.2022 r. o zmianie ustawy – Kodeks karny oraz niektórych innych ustaw (Dz.U. poz. 2600). Publikacja jest przeznaczona przede wszystkim dla studentów wydziałów prawa i aplikantów prawniczych. The International Criminal Court
This book is about the International Criminal Court (ICC), a new and highly distinctive criminal justice institution with the ability to prosecute the highest-level government officials, including heads of state, even in countries that have not accepted its jurisdiction. The book explores the historical development of international criminal law and the formal legal structure created by the Rome Statute, against the background of the Court’s search for objectivity in a political global environment. The book reviews the operations of the Court in practice and the Court’s position in the power politics of the international system. It discusses and clarifies all stages of an international criminal proceeding from the opening of the investigation to sentencing, reparations, and final appeals in the context of its restorative justice mission. Making appropriate comparisons and contrasts between the international criminal justice system and domestic and national systems, the book fills a gap in international criminal justice study.

The objective of this book is to review the position of investigative interviewing in a variety of different countries, with different types of criminal justice systems, and consists of chapters written by leading authorities in the field, both academics and practitioners. A wide range of often controversial questions are addressed, including issues raised by the treatment of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, The Reid model for interviewing and miscarriages of justice, the role of legislation in preventing bad practice, the effectiveness of ethical interviewing, investigative interviewing and human rights, responses to miscarriages of justice, and the likely future of investigative interviewing. The book also makes comparisons between British and American approaches to detention without trial, and the role of confession evidence within adversarial legal systems. The Coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict by the Polish Media (2014-2015)
In this book, the author examines the media coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict by six Polish media outlets in 2014 and 2015. Using content analysis and in-depth interviews, the author explores how cultural and historical factors, as well as the national security threat to Poland, affected the media image of the conflict. Despite differences in editorial line, level of political parallelism and type of medium, the Polish media largely spoke with one voice. Interviews with journalists uncover how they view their role in reporting on the conflict, and how national prejudices had an impact on their work. The military and economic threat to Poland, resulting from Russia's actions, was the dominant tool of domestication used by the media to bring the dispute closer to the public.
