Türk Siyasal Hayatında Osman Kavuncu
Kayseri’nin yetiştirmiş olduğu önemli isimlerden Osman Kavuncu’nun (1918-1966) zekası, vizyoner bakışı, belediyecilik anlayışı ve ulusal siyasete katkıları bu yapıtta ilk defa ele alınmıştır. Yapıtta ayrıca müstesna bir kişilik olarak politik yönetsel kimliği yanında fikir ve sanatsal anlamda da önemli katkılar sunan Kavuncu özelinde Kayseri insanının pratik zekası, çalışkanlığı ve farklı yönleri ortaya koyulmuştur. İlk kez Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi döneminde siyasi hayata adım atan Kavuncu, Demokrat Parti döneminde Kayseri Belediye Başkanlığı (1950 – 1957) ve milletvekilliği (1957 – 1960) görevinde bulunmuştur. Belediye başkanlığı döneminde Osman Kavuncu Modelini Türk yerel yönetimler tarihine önemli bir katkı olarak kazandırmıştır. Eserde, Osman Kavuncu’nun yerel ve ulusal siyasete katkılarının yanı sıra bilinmeyen yönleri derinlemesine analiz edilerek her kesimden okuyucu, akademik camia ve siyaset camiasının ilgisine sunulmuştur.
