Estatuto da Pessoa com Deficiência
A Lei Brasileira de Inclusão da Pessoa com Deficiência, também conhecida por Estatuto da Pessoa com Deficiência, foi promulgada em 2015. Como fruto da ratificação pelo Brasil da Convenção de Nova Iorque sobre os Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência, esta lei estruturou os direitos da pessoa com deficiência, harmonizando os existentes textos legais sobre a matéria, e promoveu importantes mudanças no Código Civil, ao ter modificado as regras sobre capacidade de agir e curatela. Transcorridos os primeiros anos de vigência da lei, a Universidade de São Paulo, a Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e a Universidade Estadual de Londrina reuniram-se em congresso para discussão dos avanços obtidos, desafios a serem enfrentados e obstáculos a serem ultrapassados. Como forma de consolidação desse diálogo entre as universidades, os expositores – professores e alunos de pós-graduação e graduação – elaboraram textos relativos ao Estatuto da Pessoa com Deficiência, com destaque para temas como a capacidade de agir, tomada de decisão apoiada, convivência familiar e comunitária, casamento, educação e responsabilidade civil.
