Sborník, který má v názvu vetknuté pouto přátelství, je věnován dvěma historičkám, jejichž přátelství a vzájemná badatelská spolupráce trvají mnoho let. Obě jsou mimořádnými osobnostmi na poli dějin kultury, vzdělanosti a duchovního života českých zemí 17. a 18. století. Proto se stejným směrem ubírá i dvacet devět studií, které svým zaměřením zasahují do celé řady historických témat.
