The book was based on my son when he was 3 or 4 years old dreaming of monsters, spiders or other scary things coming into his bedroom. I would wake up to his calling out whereupon I would go into his room and shoo away the scary things. He would instantly go back to sleep and many times not remember the dreams in the morning.
