Secret of What Matters Most
In 1938, June marries widower Frank Grimes. Frank obsesses over his dead wife. June becomes a Christian. June uses love and patience to face the problem. They have two children. Frank is taken prisoner in WW2. June meets challenges while he is gone. Frank has difficulty returning to civilian life. The couple have a third child. Frank loses his job. He and two other men buy a run-down plantation in South American planning on making it into a ritzy resort. There is a coup. All Americans must leave the country. The couple and three young men struggle to get to the seaport where a U.S. Navy ship is anchored to take them home. On the ship Frank tells June, he has asked for forgiveness of his sin and has become a Christian. That still doesn't change the fact, they are bankrupt. June tells Frank, they have what matters most. Once back in the states their son tells them, the land in Montana they helped him buy has oil. They are not millionaires but will have enough money to live comfortably the rest of their lives.

Secret Skeleton
In 1965, children find a skeleton in their attic. The sheriff is understaffed, and several people take it upon themselves to investigate who the skeleton was and how it came to be in the attic. Other residents in the community don't want their secrets uncovered causing danger to the volunteer investigators. Meanwhile the parents are faced with their children's various growing pains. There has also been an attempted robbery which the sheriff is investigating while trying to corral the amateur sleuths. A romance ensues between a deputy and a local beautician.
