Martin Hauser was born in 1696 in Mumplegard, Switzerland (later known as Montebeliard, France) and died 12 June 1761 at Bethania, North Carolina. His wife, Margaretha Schaeffer Hauser, was born 4 November 1702 in Alsace. She died 12 January 1775 also at Bethania. "They came to America about 1726 or 1730"--Page 76. Martin Hauser (1697-1761) married Maria Margaretha Schaefer and immigrated from the Palatinate of Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia in 1727, later moving to Rowan County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in Germany.
