SpringerBriefs in Biotech Patents presents timely reports on intellectual properties (IP) issues and patent aspects in the field of biotechnology. This volume focus on particular aspects of the US patent law, which can have tremendous differences compared to the European law. This includes questions of biopatent prosecution, novelty, inventive step, written disclosure and sufficiency of enablement as well as questions of law enforcement of biotech patents.
The volume exposes the modus operandi of Wilhelm Bode’s strategic involvement in the art market and the formation and dissolution of public and private collections, showcasing his complex agency within the art marketplace of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
English summary: Claus Ahrens deals with the protection of industrial property. He describes its basic dogmatic structures and its connection to related fields of law as well as the individual laws which go with it (for example patent law, trademark law and the law of the indication of geographical origin on goods). In doing so, he explores national, European and international law. The author's goal is to impart detailed knowledge and in addition knowledge of the entire system of industrial property rights as a development of general civil law. The work is addressed primarily to students but will however also appeal to those who are interested in the protection of industrial property. German...
As a center for jazz and blues, vaudeville, and a budding recording industry, Chicago and its environs probably spawned more nationally recognized dance bands than any other city in the United States in the 1920s and 30s. While ample attention has been paid to their black counterparts, That Toddlin' Town looks at the history of the white dance bands, theater orchestras, radio studio ensembles and night club bands. Sengstock examines these bands not only in terms of the music they played but also in the context of the venues in which they played and Chicago's volatile economic and social climate. Viewing the bands as an economic system, he analyzes them as businesses with all the usual pressures brought on by ambition, personality clashes, and the overriding need to serve clients. More than a mere popular phenomenon, these dance bands--along with their charismatic leaders, powerful booking agencies, and the Chicago Federation of Musicians--had a major impact on the music industry at large and influence over other entertainment media.
This book presents the different 3D/4D printing technological applications of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The initial chapter provides the historical perspective and current scenario of AM in pharmaceuticals. The book further discusses about different 3D printing platform technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, SSE, Ink-jet & binder jet principles & applications in developing advanced drug delivery systems. It also covers the methodology, materials for AM and important parameters associated with these platform technologies. The book highlights the progress and practical applications of 4D-printing technology in healthcare & pharmaceuticals fraternity as well including the essence of bioprinting in pharmaceuticals. Finally, the book reviews the regulatory guidelines, perspectives, and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine learning (ML) in pharmaceutical AM. This book is indeed a valuable resource for students, researchers/scholars, young start-ups/entrepreneurs, and pharmaceutical professionals by providing thorough detailing about AM in Pharmaceuticals.
