John Blank was born in about 1755 in Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Jacob Blank and Mary Catherine. He married Barbara King in about 1779 and they had eight children. He married Barbara Yoder in about 1796 and they had four children. John was an Amish Mennonite bishop from 1831 until his death in 1835. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.
