Incarnating Feelings, Constructing Communities
Attempting to connect the academic discussion around the anthropology and philosophy of the emotions to real-life, everyday experiences, this collection brings together concrete cases and situations arising from specific social and political contexts throughout the Americas. In particular, the authors explore how emotions are generated, constructed, discovered, manipulated, and experienced throughout the Americas by exploring undertheorized topics ranging from investigating the emotional lives of prisoners in Colombia and Brazil who have committed "crimes of passion," to Colombian soldiers' experiences of core "emotional events," to the role of emotions in immigration policy in the United States, to how emotions affect educators' abilities to teach certain material. Taken as a whole, this innovative, interdisciplinary, collection of original essays is not merely comparative, but rather seeks to bring voices and methodologies from North and South America into conversation to generate innovative analyses and ways to reflect about emotions in response to violence, state policies, and educational systems.

Autor: Aníbal Posada Correa Genealogías de los primeros pobladores del municipio de Andes (Antioquia, Colombia) Esta obra comprende la totalidad de las partidas de bautismo de Andes de los primeros 60 años, desde la inicial realizada en diciembre de 1855 (3 años después de la fundación de este municipio) hasta diciembre de 1915. En total son 28.243 registros bautismales sobre los cuales se formaron las respectivas genealogías, organizados de forma que se facilita al lector la búsqueda de personas y linajes específicos. Contiene además una presentación de la metodología utilizada, unas pocas anécdotas y fotografías, apuntes interesantes sobre esos primeros pobladores y sus historias genealógicas, y alguna información estadística de los registros genealógicos de este importante municipio cafetero de Colombia.

Este estudio de caso sobre Colombia es parte de una serie de estudios de caso de países que describe los pasos a dar para formular e implementar los Planes Nacionales de Adaptación (PNA). Los estudios de caso se enfocan en la adaptación en el sector agropecuario, que incluye la silvicultura, ganadería y pesca.
