Knowledge of the density of the subsurface of a planet is crucial in determining its interior structure, and one can estimate the average bulk crustal density directly using the admittance between topography and gravity, which has been successfully used for the Moon and is being extended to Mars. The interpretation of gravity data is commonly done by computation of a gravity anomaly (GA) by correcting the raw data for a number of factors that impact the gravity field. Depending on the target science, different types of GA can be computed, the interpretation of which have been widely employed in geophysics to explore the interior of the Earth and other planets, through applications in airborn...
This book highlights how terpenoids act as biological messengers and can be used as medicine against liver disease, neurodegenerative disease, cancer, infectious disease, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory diseases. It emphasizes the metabolic engineering approach of terpenoids production and their toxicity.
This book collects selected papers from the 6th Conference on Signal and Information Processing, Networking and Computers, held in Guiyang, China, on August 13 - 16, 2019. Focusing on the latest advances in information theory, communication systems, computer science, aerospace technologies, big data and other related technologies, it offers a valuable resource for researchers and industrial practitioners alike.
Today, mechanical thrombectomy plays an essential role in treating stroke related to major vessel occlusion. The device technology has been evolving in the past decade from the first-generation device of clot retriever (Merci Clot Retrieval System) to stent retrievers and aspiration catheters. With the quality of aspiration catheters improving every year, the treatment strategy has been changing dramatically. Therefore, to improve the efficacy and safety of the new generation devices, preclinical evaluation of the prototype devices using experimental models under the imaging guidance becomes crucial. Various experimental models have been proposed by investigators for the simulation of mechanical thrombectomy. For instance, patient-specific silicon models based on the 3D reconstruction of vessel segments, clinically-representative artificial clot models with various compositional and mechanical features, e.g. (fibrin rich clot, erythrocyte rich clot or mixture of each), and animal models using swine, ovine and canine.

As the cultivation of brassica crops continues to contribute to western diets, new approaches to maximizing yields are welcome. This book presents chapters on various aspects of this issue, with a particular focus on canola crops and the oil produced from them. Those chapters address the relevance of transgenic and molecular breeding techniques to develop cold tolerance in Brassica napus L. crops grown over the winter in North America, the effects of seed-placed ammonium sulphate and monoammonium phosphate on the germination and growth of brassicae oilseed crops and the cultivation of high-erucic Brassicaceae in a Mediterranean environment. Other chapters cover oil presses, sesame seeds and oilseed pests, as well as the nitrogen efficiency of oilseed rape.
