Michael J. Burchall was a genealogist who compiled transcripts of church records, monumental inscriptions, settlement papers, and an index to christenings, mostly for Sussex county, although other English counties were sometimes included. His collection was filmed in 1986 by the Genealogical Society of Utah.

The five-volume 'Oxford History of Dissenting Protestant Traditions' series is governed by a motif of migration ("out-of-England").
