Historia de la Vitamina D
Calciferoles: Las Hormonas del Momento Los calciferoles y los agonistas de sus receptores –agrupados bajo el nombre vitamérico de “Vitamina D”– son protagonistas principales en el metabolismo del calcio y del fósforo, en particular por su capacidad de intervenir en la absorción intestinal del mineral calcio. Cuando se tocan temas relacionados con la vitamina D es necesario referirse al metabolismo óseo, pues los calciferoles son indispensables tanto para una buena salud esquelética como para el manejo de ciertas patologías del hueso y para la homeostasis del calcio.

A short account of the history of the effort led to the Phosphate Workshops is appro priate and can be of interest to the reader. The idea for Phosphate Workshops was born in the early days of November, 1974. One of us (S. G. Within the past few years, it has become recognized that the immune system communicates to the brain. Substances released from activated immune cells (cytokines) stimulate peripheral nerves, thereby signaling the brain and spinal cord that infection/inflammation has occurred.
