Details the properties of 3D acquisition geometries and shows how they naturally lead to the 3D symmetric sampling approach to 3D survey design. Many examples are used to illustrate choices of acquisition parameters, and the link between survey parameters and noise suppression as well as imaging is an intrinsic part of the contents.

Philippe Decrauzat

Though his works evoke 60s Op art, Swiss-born artist Philippe Decrauzat's first reference is more likely to be the film Tron than Bridget Riley. Decrauzat works in a variety of media--wall painting, shaped canvases, sculpture, installations and works on paper, all of which evidence flat chromatics and complex geometric compositions. Stating, "I am not trying to build up a new theory about ideological issues regarding the historical content of abstraction. I am strongly involved in investigating the status of the image, in other words, indebted to practices trying to outline the critical tools developed by Conceptual and Op art," Decrauzat clues us in to how his seemingly simple mix of appropriated imagery and techniques works. This is Decrauzat's first monograph and includes an essay by critic and curator Bob Nickas.

Aircraft described as flying wing have sparked the interest of designers since the early, pioneer years of aviation. This definition is used to describe aircraft with specific design solutions, allowing for resignation from conventional vertical and horizontal empennage and primarily from a conventional fuselage. Virtually the whole airframe comprises only the wing, housing both the cockpit and powerplant. A sub-group of flying wings is tailless aircraft, differing from the traditional designs only in lack of horizontal empennage.
