Zur Förderung der Lernerautonomie im Fremdsprachenunterricht wird von vielen WissenschaftlerInnen betont, dass besonders zuverlässige und valide Messinstrumente erforderlich sind. Die vorliegende Studie zielt daher zunächst darauf ab, eine Skala zu entwickeln, die Lernerautonomie von DAF-Lehramtstudierenden misst. Im Anschluss wurde die entwickelte Skala zur Analyse und Bewertung verschiedener soziodemographischer Merkmale der Stichproben verwendet. Die endgültige Version der Skala enthält 19 Items unter den vier Faktoren "Taktiken", "Strategien", "Verantwortungsbewusstsein" und "Einstellung und Motivation". Die unerwartet entstandene Situation durch die Covid-19-Pandemie bewies noch einmal, wie wichtig autonomes Lernverhalten ist. Lernende, die in der Lage sind, Selbstverantwortung zu übernehmen und den Bildungsprozess selbständig und unabhängig vom Unterrichtsgeschehen zu organisieren, haben die herausfordernde Corona-Zeit gut überstanden. Anhand der Ergebnisse der vorliegenden Studie wurde auch deutlich, dass die Lehrkräfte der Sekundarstufe und des Hochschulstudiums mehr daran arbeiten sollten, den Lernenden zu helfen, weniger abhängig von ihnen zu werden.
