The Joint Canada/United Sates Survey of Health (JCUSH) is a collaborative project undertaken by Statistics Canada and the National Centre for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project called for a one-time telephone survey to be conducted in both countries, controlling for survey design and implementation effects, in order to produce comparable health data. Data collection took place from November 2002 to June 2003. The JCUSH data were officially released in June 2004. From sample selection to data release, going through questionnaire design and data collection, many challenges have been taken up to obtain the most comparable Canadian and American data. All steps in this first joint effort between Canada and the United States are presented in this document.
This report presents a summary evaluation of the quality of the data collected during the SLID field test of income and wealth, held in April and May 1993.
