Nandan Nilekani?s journey with Infosys began in 1978, even before Infosys was formed, when he joined Patni Computers after graduating from IIT Bombay and began working under N.R. Narayana Murthy. Three years later, on July 2, 1981, Infosys was born under the leadership of Murthy and the other co-founders-S. Gopalakrishnan, K. Dinesh, NS Raghavan, NM Nilekani and SD Shibulal. Murthy had borrowed Rs. 10,000 from his spouse. The team worked hard to build Infosys through the 1980s and 1990s. Infosys has it?s their head office at Bangalore. It specializes in IT and BPO services. It provides such services around the world over and has strength of 58,000 employees. It has an annual revenue of $2 billion and market capitalization of $21 billion. Nandan Nilekani co-founded Infosys along with Narayana Murthy since its inception in 1981. He has held several posts in the organization until he was appointed CEO in March, 2002.
