Ensuring the Rights of Migrant Workers
This collection provides insights into international labor migration in the context of globalization through the lens of international law and national law of some Asian countries that are the home countries of migrant workers. The main focus of the volume is on challenges regarding international labor migration that some developing countries in Asia have been confronted with. It investigates and determines current situations in some Asian developing countries having the majority of overseas migrant workers. It also places some emphasis on national regulatory systems of policies and regulations regarding overseas labour migration from those countries. In addition, in light of the current situation on international labour migration, the chapters outlines some recommendations and solutions for those selected developing countries in Asia to resolve existing problems to effectively ensure the protection of the rights of overseas labor migrants and governance of international labor migration in accordance with international standards.
Japan Fund for Public Policy Training
The Japan Fund for Public Policy Training was established in March 2004 as a trust fund to enhance developing member countries' capacity building for public policy management, focusing on regional economies in transition. Since its inception, the Government of Japan has contributed more than $22 million. The country director of the Asian Development Bank's Viet Nam Resident Mission acts as the program manager of the fund. The Public Policy Training Program's training facility in Ha Noi continues to operate efficiently with the establishment of strict administrative procedures and systems for the effective implementation of the technical assistance program.

Assessment of Public-Private Partnerships in Viet Nam
This report is a diagnostic assessment of the readiness of Viet Nam to develop and manage public-private partnerships (PPPs). It was prepared jointly with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and it is part of a series of studies being prepared by the Southeast Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The study sets out the development strategy context for PPPs, reviews the enabling environment, and provides a gap analysis of current arrangements relative to international best practices. The analysis considers arrangements that can be put in place at the national and subnational levels, and identifies areas where AFD and ADB could provide assistance. The preparation of this assessment is an integral part of ADB's planning process to ensure coordination between the government’s priorities and those of ADB, especially as regards ADB's Strategy 2020 and the PPP Operational Plan.
