Martial Culture and Historical Martial Arts in Europe and Asia

This open access book is the first publication to provide a comparative framework for the study of martial culture and historical martial arts in Europe and Asia, in particular in Italy and China. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of martial studies, contributors to this volume include historians, archeologists, art historians, scholars of fencing literature, metallurgists, as well as contemporary master swordsmiths and masters-of-arms in historical martial arts. Assembling researchers from these diverse fields, this book offers a multi-perspectival and dynamic view of martial culture across time and space. The cross-cultural and interdisciplinary significance of this book cannot be overem...

This book is the first to examine the Corona phenomenon in its entirety and uncovers plenty of contradictions. A wealth of information is substantiated with hundreds of sources and raises doubts about the official account of the virus, the disease and the sense of the measures. The political background responsible for the economic decline is revealed. The book answers important questions such as: Can the PCR test detect infections at all? Why do the statistics show far too high case numbers? How dangerous is the virus really? What did the alledged "corona" dead die of? What are the problems of wearing masks? Why lockdowns and spacing rules cannot stop the virus? Why are the new vaccinations ...

The Martial Artist

Extracts from the life of an artist, an athlete, a philosopher; a man occupied with the determined and instinctive research of beauty, justice, and of the deepest truth. A search that crosses several fields: from the purely artistic one to the sacred one, from the most ancient and remote times to our modern and contemporary world. An observer that, thanks to painting, manages to escape from the day-to-day banality and human mediocrity. A fascinating text that proves the redeeming power of art. Artist and teacher, Tiziano Bonanni is a painter, sculptor, and writer. Among the most relevant masters in Tuscany and one of the most representative Italian painters, he alternates his profession with the practice of judo and martial philosophy as a lifestyle, a “creed”, which generates creative thinking and excellency in a society that doesn’t wish to “be” anymore, but rather to own, in a compulsive and dishonorable way. Deeply connected to Florence’s history and culture, he’s an honorary member of the Accademia Medicea and Knight of the Ordine di Parte Guelfa.

L'altra Europa

Plato, Egypt and the Seven Great Islands of the Western Sea

The question of Plato, as the primary and universally known and recognized profane source regarding the mention of Atlantis, its history, its description and its tragic end, necessarily deserves some reflections, considerations and insights, since, in the vast bibliography concerning this argument, the Athenian philosopher is always and punctually called into question, both by supporters of the past existence of the lost continent, and by skeptics, detractors and deniers of its existence. But Plato was certainly not the first ancient author to mention Atlantis. Many others did it before him, although their works have been lost. In ancient Greece and in all the civilizations of the Mediterranean and the Near East no cultured person doubted the real historical existence of the mythical lost continent. Likewise, the memory of a terrible catastrophe that changed the face of our planet, annihilating all previous forms of civilization, has remained imprinted in the collective memory, in the myths and legends of all peoples. The historian and essayist Nicola Bizzi, with this new work, sheds new light on one of the greatest secrets of our past.
