Good night friend
Commençant par lénigme dun rêve et se terminant par une parabole, Good night friend parle du tressage des cultures, de Kanaks qui aiment lopéra, de lexil hors des tribus, du vaa, de la terre qui est maintenant dans linconscient, mais aussi dêtre désormais de la ville. La ville vue à travers la métaphore de la prison de pierre qui enferme mais qui permet lamitié malgré les différences ethniques. Roman qui nous en dit beaucoup sur la Nouvelle-Calédonie et sur le lien familial fort qui englobe présents et absents, les ancêtres mais aussi ceux qui sont adoptés. Par petites touches, à la manière des impressionnistes, lauteur joue avec le «je» du narrateur qui devient comme un témoin et passe dun personnage à lautre. Il dévoile au fil du récit une sombre histoire denvoûtement avec meurtre et nous tire jusquau coeur des problématiques océaniennes attachées au nom et à la terre.
