The field of sustainability continues to evolve as a discipline. The world is facing multiple sustainability challenges such as climate change, water depletion, ecosystem loss, and environmental racism. The Handbook of Sustainability will provide a comprehensive reference for the field that examines in depth the major themes within what are known as the three E’s of sustainability: environment, equity, and economics. These three themes will serve as the main organizing body of the work. In addition, the work will include sections on history and sustainability, major figures in the development of sustainability as a discipline, and important organizations that contributed or that continue to contribute to sustainability as a field. The work is explicitly global in scope as it considers the very different issues associated with sustainability in the global north and south

This book presents for the first time in English an array of essays on design by the seminal media critic and philosopher Vilém Flusser. It puts forward the view that our future depends on design. In a series of insightful essays on such ordinary "things" as wheels, carpets, pots, umbrellas and tents, Flusser emphasizes the interrelationships between art and science, theology and technology, and archaeology and architecture. Just as formal creativity has produced both weapons of destruction and great works of art, Flusser believed that the shape of things (and the designs behind them) represents both a threat and an opportunity for designers of the future.
So many secrets revealed, both terrible and true, both beautiful and haunting. Eryn Lyle's father was "murdered" by a deadly medical blunder, and then her family stonewalled by an airtight cover-up. It's during times like these that we discover the trick to the magic trick, all too late, now deadly. None of it is what we thought, what we'd like it to be. The mentors are the liars and the followers blind and will follow until they are exhausted, broke, and none the wiser. Those still standing, the Eryn Lyles, are left to pick up the pieces and move on. Move on. It was never what it seemed and Ms. Lyle, a world-class adventurer, would find herself on a journey, an adventure, that she'd never planned on. The Adventure Icon is suddenly the hapless traveler, lost, until she finds herself under the giant mimosa with the mango tree lover. Now a 5-star Readers' Favorite book.
