FLIGHT FROM THE TOWER tells the story of Honza, an only child of a Czech family who was raised as a Jehovah Witness by his mother. Organized religion was anathema under communist rule and members were always at risk of a crackdown by the Party. The chapters follow Honza's upbringing in the faith, despite his father's opposition, as well as the clandestine preaching and worship meant to nurture his beliefs. It leaves him withdrawn, isolated and an easy target at school. As he reaches adulthood, Honza begins to questions the tenets and intolerance of both the regime and religion and embarks on a new journey of discovery. The Velvet Revolution intervenes, revealing a whole different world to him.
Kdo otevírá staré hroby, může v nich sám skončit.
