Rousseau zur Einführung
Rousseau ist, wie Cassirer sich ausdrückte, ein Problem. Dies macht ihn lesenswert: in der Schule ebenso wie in der Hochschule. Darum wendet sich diese Einführung an studierende und praktizierende Pädagogen, aber auch an alle Interessierten, die den Philosophen und Staatstheoretiker in seiner ganzen literarischen Breite und theoretischen Tiefe kennenlernen wollen. Der Sammelband beginnt mit einer ideengeschichtlichen Einführung in Rousseaus Leben und Werk (Teil I), bearbeitet auf der Grundlage des 'Emile und anderer Schriften zentrale pädagogische und anthropologische Fragestellungen (Teil II) und diskutiert exemplarisch die unterrichtspraktische und fachdidaktische Relevanz seines Denkens (Teil III).
Prozesse beim gemeinsamen Lernen aus der Sicht von Schülerinnen und Schülern
Ab den 1990er Jahren war das Konzept des jahrgangsübergreifenden Lernens (JÜL) in einem stätigen Aufwind in Deutschland. Diese Entwicklung kam durch das schlechte Abschneiden in der deutschsprachigen Veröffentlichung von Hatties Studie (2014) abrupt zu einem Stillstand. Qualität von Schule wird in vielen Studien ausnahmslos an den kognitiven Leistungen von Schülerinnen und Schülern gemessen (so auch bei Hattie). Diese einseitige Betrachtungsweise ist ebenfalls in der Forschung zu JÜL erkennbar. Allerdings steht auch fest, dass die Prozesse im Unterricht ausschlaggebend für erfolgreichen Output sind. Deshalb werden in dieser Forschungsarbeit die konkreten Prozesse innerhalb einer jahrgangsübergreifenden Grundschulklasse beobachtet, analysiert und interpretiert. Und wie ist überhaupt die Sichtweise von Schülerinnen und Schülern auf diese Prozesse?

Teaching and Learning Mathematical Modelling
This survey provides an overview of the German discussion on modelling and applications in schools. It considers the development from the beginning of the 20th century to the present, and discusses the term “mathematical model” as well as different representations of the modelling process as modelling cycles. Different trends in the historical and current debate on applications and modelling can be differentiated as perspectives of modelling. Modelling is now one of the six general mathematical competencies defined in the educational standards for mathematics introduced in Germany in 2003, and there have been several initiatives to implement modelling in schools, as well as a whole range of empirical research projects focusing on teachers or students in modelling processes. As a special kind for implementing modelling into school, modelling weeks and days carried out by various German universities have been established.

Daniel
Hans Bengler, a young entomologist, leaves Sweden for the Kalahari Desert, determined to find a previously undiscovered insect to name after himself and advance his career. Instead, he finds a young boy, whose tribe has been decimated by European raiders. Accustomed to collecting specimens, Bengler re-names the traumatised child Daniel and brings him home to Sweden, intending to 'civilise' him. But Daniel yearns desperately for the desert and his real family. His only consolation is his friendship with a vulnerable young girl who is also an outsider in the community, but even this bond is destined to be violently broken, as Daniel's isolation and increasing desperation lead to a chilling tragedy.
