Bröderna Karlsson planerar en rånturné i Småland. När de hamnar i Helgeryd som dörrknackande mormoner väntar frälsningen på dem, vare sig de vill eller inte. Jean är en ung munk som kommer till Nydala kloster i Småland, men som blir tvungen att fly därifrån efter en fruktansvärd händelse. Han lyckas ta sig till Gotland i förhoppning om att finna en fristad i Roma. Saker och ting står emellertid inte rätt till i klostret på ön, vad är det egentligen som har skett?
