The Getty Research Journal showcases the remarkable original research underway at the Getty. Articles explore the rich collections of the J. Paul Getty Museum and Research Institute, as well as the Research Institute's research projects and annual theme of its scholar program. Shorter texts highlight new acquisitions and discoveries in the collections, and focus on the diverse tools for scholarship being developed at the Research Institute. The Digital Continent
The Digital Continent investigates what the impact of the growth of digital work in Africa means for workers. The volume draws on a year-long field study conducted in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda to provide one of the first empirical studies on the topic.
Selection of Materials for the Storage Or Display of Museum Objects
There is little point in conserving an object if the storage conditions to which it is to be returned contributed to its deterioration. This book presents the full range of tests, for materials used in constructing storage and display areas, which are used at the British museum and describes standard procedures for carrying them out.
