The Hologram Syndrome
Commander Mysek and his crew are catapulted into the astral plane, the first stop after death, when their astral bodies are squeezed out of their physical bodies when they reach the speed of light. He meets Legion, a charismatic ruler who rules over the frivolous rich as well as the damned and despicable. Legion tells Mysek he cannot return to the physical earth. Mysek learns he has three days to return, but he has difficulty maintaining his decorum in a dimension where unbridled passions and desires control a persons actions. He fights off his lust for Zelda, Legions mistress, as he watches his crew succumb to carnal pleasures, and their personalities change as they wind their way from the splendor of riches through the swamps of despair while fleeing a metamorphous of Legion caused by a revolt led by his lieutenant, Mammon.
