Inspired and based upon by the travels of the author's grandfather, Joseph Ross, from Russia to America, this historical fiction account takes us through the very early 1900s and what the characters had to endure to survive. Joseph was forced to be a drummer in the Russian Army during the Russian Revolution of 1905. He suffered through numerous traumatic situations. In order to continue to live, he escaped from Russia seeking safety in a new country. His travels took him to Turkey, throughout the Mediterranean, Germany, and finally to America by difficult means. Historically accurate, the book explores numerous significant events going on in the world and exposes the reader to the issues of those days.
