This Research Topic is a continuation of the successful topic launched in Veterinary Infectious Diseases, https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/13197/zoonotic-diseases-their-hosts-and-vectors The field of zoonotic parasitic diseases, which can be transmitted between animals and humans, is currently experiencing significant advancements. These diseases, caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi, vary widely in their symptoms and severity, with some leading to severe illness or death. The transmission of these parasites can occur through various sources, including food, domestic and wild animals, and vectors. However, the detection, treatment, and control of these diseases are of...

Wolbachia is likely the most successful endosymbiotic bacteria associated with insects and other arthropods, as well as nematodes. Over the past several decades, its widespread presence across the vast range of arthropod in the terrestrial ecosystem, as well as its various biological attributes, have caused an explosive development in Wolbachia research. These include the induction of striking reproductive phenotypes, namely cytoplasmic incompatibility, male-killing, parthenogenesis induction, and feminization; obligatory and conditional beneficial fitness consequences such as nutrient provisioning and resistance to parasites, pathogens and viruses; essentiality for host growth, development ...
Climate change, agricultural practices, and landscape changes have caused ecosystem fragmentation and increased the parasite spillover from wildlife to humans and domestic animals, and vice versa. Wild animals have a very important role in maintaining and spreading different pathogens to domestic animals and humans. Most of these pathogens affect more than one animal species, complicating their control in nature. Parasitic diseases are commonly identified in wild animals, livestock, and companion animals. In domestic animals, prevention and antiparasitic treatments are necessary for good health and are used to treat and prevent infections. However, if left untreated some parasitic diseases severely affect the host and more rarely, can be fatal.
In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, businesses today face an imperative to adapt and innovate continuously. Digital transformation is at the core of this evolution. It enables organizations to rethink and redesign their operations, processes, and customer interactions. Within this context, marketing has seen a profound shift, with agile methodologies and advanced technologies redefining traditional practices. It is imperative to explore the intersection of these critical areas. Digital Transformation Initiatives for Agile Marketing explores the various aspects of marketing and digital transformation, including how technology is changing the way marketers operate, how businesses can leverage data to improve customer engagement, and the challenges and opportunities that com with implementing digital transformation initiatives. It also discusses new marketing tendencies related to technology, people, and processes. Covering topics such as artificial intelligence, customer experience, and omnichannel marketing, this book is an excellent resource for marketers, business leaders, academicians, researchers, educators, graduate and postgraduate students, and more.
This book analyzes the relationship between large-scale industrial activity and the carbon footprint, and provides a theoretical framework and tools to calculate the carbon footprint of industrial activities at every stage of their life cycles, including urban-planning master plans, recycling activities, project and building stages as well as managing and manufacturing. Discussing the main preventative and corrective measures that can be utilized, it includes case studies, reports on technological developments and examples of successful policies to provide inspiration to readers. This book collects the contributions of authors from four continents, in order to analyze from as many as possible points of view and using many different approaches, the problem of sustainability in today’s globalized world.
Case law is a widely studied field, posing a series of questions. The first issue relates to the nature of case law itself, as the term cannot be given a single meaning. There is no one definition of case law, but rather a plurality of meanings depending on the historical period and legal system in question. After an analysis of Roman iurisprudentia and Anglo-Saxon case law, this work considers the Spanish legal system, as an example of a Continental jurisdiction, and distinguishes between the case laws of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, the European courts, and the Superior Courts of Justice of the Autonomous Communities. The book analyses these issues, among many others, in a clear and in-depth manner, from an historical and comparative approach of great interest and academic value.
