Open Enclosed: Donald Judd
Taking "Specific Objects," the seminal text written by Judd in the mid-sixties, as the central theme, the author analyzes the artist's main concepts and his whole career from a new perspective: "what one seeks is an object that speaks of the world in which it is moving or of the world from which it is moving away. One searches for a boundary work, a frontier, that says, simultaneously, where it is coming from and where it is going, a work in which interests overlap. A work that will function as a mark or a crossroads, locating this work is the first exercise.
Josep M. Jujol
Josep Maria Jujol was one of the great forward visionary architects from Catalonia, mostly known for his work with Antoni Gaudí. This book presents, through one of his most wonderful and unkown buildings, a new way to discover and understand the philosophy that lies behind his architectural work and non-conventional structural solutions. A building with a strong symbolism expressed through its structure, with hidden messages written on the walls and the use of simple and recycled materials. Elements with a total identification with the inhabitants of Vistabella. The book includes high-res unpublished material from the rare Jujol Archives.
Le Corbusier Y Pierre Jeanneret
The Villa Savoye, in Poissy, (France) which was built by Le Corbusier between 1928 and 1931, is considered as one of his major works, and even as one of the masterpieces of 20th century architecture. The villa was designed for a rich insurer, Mr. Savoye, and was the result of several years of formal research which revolutionised the traditional codes of residential architecture.
La volta de canó a l’arquitectura tradicional
Les cabanes de volta són el resultat tant del context econòmic, social i cultural de la Fatarella i dels seus voltants, com de la tipologia de pedra que s'hi localitza. La possibilitat d'obtenir la pedra i treballar-la afavoreix estructures complexes de construccions. La necessitat de resguardar persones, animals, els estris de treball al camp i disposar d'espais per assecar la collita en aquest context rural, dona lloc a la construcció de les cabanes de volta de canó. La recerca desenvolupada ha permès registrar i analitzar aquesta tipologia de construccions utilitzant l'eina de captura massiva de dades, la fotogrametria digital, de forma sistemàtica com mai abans s'havien realitzat. Els resultats i els aprenentatges adquirits al respecte han estat fruit de l'observació, del procés analític dels models tridimensionals i de la combinació dels dos.
