Magnetostatic Modelling of Thin Layers Using the Method of Moments And Its Implementation in OCTAVE/MATLAB

This book presents an efficient and robust method of modelling the magnetostatic properties of different technical elements, especially thin layers for magnetic sensors. The solutions presented utilise the principles of the method of moments. However, the principles have been developed both from the point of view of physical analyses as well as from the point of view of numerical optimisation. To enable cost-efficient use of the solutions for commercial applications in industry, the proposed method was implemented as a code optimised for use in the open-source OCTAVE environment. The scripts can be also used with MATLAB software, which is more user friendly, especially for less experienced users.

This book presents the proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Global Research and Education, Inter-Academia 2018 held in Kaunas, Lithuania on 24–27 September 2018. The main goal of the conference was to provide an international forum to review, stimulate, and understand the recent trends in both fundamental and applied research. In addition to increasing interest in recent research findings, the conference aimed to strengthen the cooperation between the partners of the Inter-Academia community towards new theoretical and practical research advances. The papers included cover topics in the fields of material science and technology, nanotechnology, plasma physics, biotechnology and environmental engineering, electric and electronic engineering, robotics, measurement, identification, and control, soft computing techniques and modeling, multimedia and e-Learning. The book is a valuable scientific reference resource for the global scientific community.

Automation 2021: Recent Achievements in Automation, Robotics and Measurement Techniques

This book contains 38 papers authored by both scientists and practitioners focused on an interdisciplinary approach to the development of cyber-physical systems. Recently our civilization has been facing one of the most severe challenges in modern history. The COVID-19 pandemic devastated the global economy and significantly disrupted numerous areas of economic activity. Only radical increase of efficiency and versatility of industrial production, with further limitation of human involvement, paralleled by the decrease of environmental burden, will enable us to cope with such challenges. We hope that the presented book provides input to the solution of at least some problems brought about by this challenge. This approach relies on the development of measuring techniques, robotic and mechatronic systems, industrial automation, numerical modeling and simulation as well as application of artificial intelligence techniques required by the transformation leading to Industry 4.0.
