Ramona is a small rural community in north county San Diego. People here live a little closer to nature , raising chickens for eggs, riding their horse down main street, and stopping to watch a bald eagle soaring over the grasslands. Local photographer Roy Toft has captured stunning images of Ramona's wilder residents including mountain lions, bobcat, and golden eagles to name a few. Many of the images were made by using remote cameras put in Roy's valley property. These cameras are triggered by motion and allow for shy and secretive animals to make portraits of themselves in a very intimate way. This book is a celebration of our wild neighbors who crawl, fly, and walk through our valleys, back yards and community of Ramona.
