Future Narratives: Projections of Female Identity
This compilation of future narratives by Australian women writers contain projections of life in 2122. Women were invited to construct a possible world for a female identity to inhabit, designing all social, political and environmental systems of life. In a markedly divergent set of creative works, themes of utopia, dystopia, female identity, gender diversity and motherhood have emerged. Notably, projections of climate change catastrophe were present in many narratives alongside multiple instances of women exerting influence as organisers and providers of solutions. These narratives were gathered for the purposes of projective narrative inquiry analysis as part of Fiona Wilkie's Masters thesis project at Victoria University.

Low Vision
An International Symposium on Low Vision was sponsored by the Centre for Sight Enhancement of the School of Optometry, University of Waterloo in June 1986, bringing low vision researchers and clinicians together from a number of countries. The unique feature of the conference is the multi-disciplinary approach towards low vision care. A total of 44 papers were presented in the three day period by speakers of note from the fields of optometry, ophthalmology, psychophysics, special education, nursing and vision rehabilitation. Condition Monitoring of Rotating Electrical Machines
Condition monitoring of engineering plants has increased in importance as engineering processes have become increasingly automated. However, electrical machinery usually receives attention only at infrequent intervals when the plant or the electricity generator is shut down. The economics of industry have been changing, placing ever more emphasis on the importance of reliable operation of the plants. Electronics and software in instrumentation, computers, and digital signal processors have improved our ability to analyse machinery online. Condition monitoring is now being applied to a range of systems from fault-tolerant drives of a few hundred watts to machinery of a few hundred MW in major plants.
