This compilation of future narratives by Australian women writers contain projections of life in 2122. Women were invited to construct a possible world for a female identity to inhabit, designing all social, political and environmental systems of life. In a markedly divergent set of creative works, themes of utopia, dystopia, female identity, gender diversity and motherhood have emerged. Notably, projections of climate change catastrophe were present in many narratives alongside multiple instances of women exerting influence as organisers and providers of solutions. These narratives were gathered for the purposes of projective narrative inquiry analysis as part of Fiona Wilkie's Masters thesis project at Victoria University.

Come on a whirlwind ride across time and place with one of the most recognizable figures of Western history - Joan of Arc. We all know of her, but few know the details of her life. Travel back in time with The Maid, in a series of imaginary interviews conducted by the author. Join her journey from shepherdess to warrior woman, to her rise to sainthood. Enjoy Joan's own words, recorded through two arduous trials. Admire her courage and stoicism, her compassion for the enemy, her battle strategies and her horsemanship. Under the duress of imprisonment and trial, she still maintained her sense of humor, to the point of making her accusers and judges laugh out loud. Five hundred years later, the Catholic Church that condemned her as a heretic, made her a Saint. Come with Joan the Maid. Ride the wind. Choose the fire.

A Wild History

The frontiersmen who came to the Victoria River District of Australia’s Northern Territory included cattle and horse thieves, outlaws, capitalists, dreamers, drunks, madmen and others, from the explorers of the 1830s and 1850s to the founders of the big stations in the 1880s and 1890s, and the cattle duffers in the early 1900s. This book looks at them all. Drawing on painstaking research into obscure and rich documentary sources, Aboriginal oral traditions, and first-hand investigations conducted in the region over thirty-five years, Darrell Lewis pieces together the complex interactions between the environment, the powerful and warlike Aboriginal tribes and the settlers and their cattle, which produced what truly became A Wild History.
