This conference aims at bringing together scholars and researchers to share their knowledge and their research findings. This publication resulted from the selected papers of these conferences

The proceeding is a collection of research papers presented at the 2nd International Colloquium on Sports Science, Exercise, Engineering and Technology (ICoSSEET2015), a conference dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of sports science, exercise, sports engineering and technology including other areas of sports, thereby presenting a consolidated view to the interested researchers in the aforesaid fields. The goal of this conference was to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on the scope of the conference and establishing new collaborations in these areas. The topics of interest are in mainly (1) Sports and Exercise Science (2) Sports Engineering and Technology Application (3) Sports Industry and Management.
Perspectives on Ecocriticism
This volume gathers together papers presented at the conference “Ecocriticism in the Nordic Countries; Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” held in Västerås, Sweden, in 2017, organized by the research group Ecocritical Forum at Mälardalen University. The conference, which was an attempt to survey local ecocritical activities, transcended Nordic boundaries, engaging scholars from Europe and the United States. This expansion from the local to the global mirrors the subject of the conference: ecocriticism, a cross-disciplinary field of research in the intersection of environmental issues and cultural expressions. The chapters here engage with topical issues such as the Anthropocene, sustainability in education, and civilizational critique, as well as schools of thought such as materialism, dark ecology and animal studies. The contributions discuss several types of cultural expressions, including film and other visual media, university course design and Nordic, and English language novels and poetry. This volume will attract the interest of readers from a number of different backgrounds, both in the Nordic countries and internationally.
COVID-19, Tourist Destinations and Prospects for Recovery
The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on tourist destinations in developing and developed countries. Though the entire globe was impacted, the short- and long-term implications for tourism as well as prospects for recovery vary across regions. This volume showcases research on the impact of COVID-19 on tourism from across the world. The book is divided into three parts, with the stage set by an introductory chapter that will provide a background and context. Part I contains chapters that explore the impact of COVID-19 on selected international tourist destinations. Part II showcases how various hotspots across the world adjusted to the new normal under pandemic conditions. Part III is a collection of chapters that address how various destinations are attempting to recover from the shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic. The concluding chapter, written by the editors, seeks to synthesize the lessons offered in the book and provide policy and practical implementation for the tourism industry and other important tourism stakeholders.

Buku Pedagogi Meningkatkan Kualiti Intelektual Pelajar merupakan dapatan daripada kajian penyelidikan tentang strategi pengajaran guru. Buku ini memberi pengetahuan yang amat bermakna tentang strategi, pendekatan dan teknik spesifik berdasarkan amalan pedagogi terbaik guru dalam meningkatkan kualiti intelektual pelajar di dalam bilik darjah. Kandungan di dalam buku ini turut membincangkan kepentingan membangunkan potensi kualiti intelektual dalam kalangan pelajar melalui amalan pedagogi yang berkesan oleh guru. Model berserta profil amalan pedagogi terbaik guru dalam meningkatkan kualiti intelektual pelajar turut dikemukakan bagi membantu dan diadaptasi oleh para guru dan bakal guru untuk merancang pengajaran, melaksanakan pengajaran dan pembelajaran, dan seterusnya membuat penilaian pengajaran untuk meningkatkan kualiti intelektual pelajar. Buku ini dapat menyumbang kepada pembangunan praktis pedagogi guru di dalam bilik darjah ke arah meningkatkan profesion perguruan pada abad ke-21.
E-Pedagogy for the Digital Age
Adult learners have more options for enrolling in postsecondary education than ever before, and they are able to use their learning style preference in deciding which program best meets their needs. For some of these students, those programs are fully online, and for others, there is minimal use of technology. As technology grows and become more integrated into individual lives, the unique learning styles and preferences of adults need to learn to be incorporated into instructional design. Drawing on a regional sample of US colleges, 545 adult learners in a graduate programs were surveyed about how to effectively build community in their online classes. Results indicated some agreement with these instructional tools. Mature adult learners, however, were found to have stronger agreement with strategies that included work outside of the formal online class. These results suggest perhaps a greater comfort for adults in working in spaces where there is less likelihood of being judged or graded, and that they might value relational work with other students in different ways than younger adults.
