Watch What You Wish is the second in a series about Sandi's granddaughter, Kajsa, who is the middle child. It was originally written because she could find no books or gifts celebrating the name Kajsa. But the reaction of her adult friends to this book about a child working through insecurities as the new baby takes her place as the youngest in the family, made Sandi watch Kajsa more closely and see, first hand, the potentially painful transition to middle child. Kajsa, explores the fantacy of staying a little baby and having all her needs met by her family. But life takes a surprising turn when her wishes come true with a painful twist. Her paraents and her confidente, Irish the Cat, are there to help Kajsa grow in confidence as she learns that the place she holds in her family is perfect for her.

Originally I wrote "KAJSA IN THE MIDDLE" because I could find nothing on the store shelves to celebrate Kajsa's beautiful name. But writing about her sensitized me to her middle child challenges. Kajsa struggled to keep up with her older sister and looked over her shoulder at the baby who was now the youngest. In book #3, "KAJSA BIG GIRL OR LITTLE GIRL" we see Kajsa grow in the realization that her place in her family is the perfect place to blossom into all that she can be. Kajsa is able in her childlike transparency to voice what we all wonder, "Am I There Yet?" In "KAJSABIG GIRL OR LITTLE GIRL" you might see a reflection of yourself, even at your age.

Grace Adams thinks her life is perfect until her mother gives her an unexpected "gift": a book of diet and exercise tips called Look Great Naked, and says, "I think your husband is having an affair." The unspoken message is this: your husband is straying, and you need to fix yourself. Instead, Grace learns to peel away the scales of image and strip down to her authentic self, no longer addicted to perfection and the notion that she must hide her weaknesses from everyone. She finds herself on a journey of despair and hope -- sometimes side-splitting, sometimes heartrending -- that will empower people to take off their own masks.

Theyre back! As General Patrick would quickly learn, the evil lurking in the night skies appears not only to be back, but this time something is different and far more sinister. Are these new Gomers here to make peace or to conquer? Is this a new war or merely a continuation of the last one? Did this enemy learn from past mistakes, or is the world now dealing with a new threat? As the Gomer saga continues, the world is facing a newer and far more insidious threat than ever before, and it can only be hoped that we made good use of the few years since the last war. What is certain is that the Gomers now attacking our world are far smarter, and far more ruthless, than anything mankind ever face...

Reviews Of Accelerator Science And Technology - Volume 7: Colliders

The idea of colliding two particle beams to fully exploit the energy of accelerated particles was first proposed by Rolf Wideröe, who in 1943 applied for a patent on the collider concept and was awarded the patent in 1953. The first three colliders — AdA in Italy, CBX in the US, and VEP-1 in the then Soviet Union — came to operation about 50 years ago in the mid-1960s. A number of other colliders followed.Over the past decades, colliders defined the energy frontier in particle physics. Different types of colliers — proton-proton, proton-antiproton, electron-positron, electron-proton, electron-ion and ion-ion colliders — have played complementary roles in fully mapping out the constituents and forces in the Standard Model (SM). We are now at a point where all predicted SM constituents of matter and forces have been found, and all the latest ones were found at colliders. Colliders also play a critical role in advancing beam physics, accelerator research and technology development. It is timely that RAST Volume 7 is dedicated to Colliders.
