A Life to Love

“The course of true love never did run smooth” - William Shakespeare A Life to Love is the story of Vani and Arjun that lives up to this famous line. They find love early in life but are forced to let go of each other as she is forcibly married to someone else. The marriage ends in a fiasco but leaves its scars on Vani that she finds difficult to erase. Arjun comes back in Vani’s life to hold her hand. She still loves him but is engulfed with a guilt of having let him down and wonders if she is worthy of his love. She struggles to fulfill her desire of loving Arjun with total abandonment and to realise her fantasies that were etched in her mind since she had met him for the first time as a nineteen-year-old girl. This is a tale of deceit and vengeance based on Pukhtoonwali – a Pathan’s code of conduct. It is surprising how events of a nearly forgotten past sometimes catch up with the present. A small incident during the 1971 Indo-Pak war triggers a series of events that result in revenge nearly 50 years later. 'A Life so Full' is the story of Suraj, a third generation Army officer. He firmly believes that every time you fall into an abyss, a door opens somewhere with an opportunity to climb to the top once again. The book gives an insight into the heart and soul of a young Indian Army officer in different situations, including the times when he faces live enemy bullets for the first time. A very compelling narrative that spans over seven decades where the author shifts in a seamless manner from the past to the fast-paced world of today with ease. The lucid writing transcends the military to civil transition with ease as the protagonist travels from a strict uniform regimen to the nuances of civilian corporate leader. His deed of valour during the war 50 years ago becomes the reason that pushes him into a near abyss, but the soldier in him ensures that he comes out unscathed.

India’s Tryst With 2024

Will the BJP will come to power again in 2024? Today, a committed citizen is concerned about the lack of a viable political opposition, the ever-vitiating communal environment, and the harrowing prospect of a multi-party coalition government with hardly any common national agenda. For India, that is aiming to become the third largest economy in the world and a nation that can play a leadership role internationally, it will be important to maintain the development momentum that is evident in the last few years despite the pandemic and the Ukraine war. The 2024 general elections will therefore be very critical for the nation. India’s Tryst With 2024 covers the journey of the nation under Mr Modi and the BJP from 2019 to date. The likely triggers that could impact a voter’s choice in 2024 have been discussed. The aim being to encourage the reader to make his choice based on ground realities and keeping national interests in mind rather than on mere perceptions, half-truths, or sloganeering.

Authoritative Democracies

This book comments on growing authoritarianism in democracy and suggests how it ought to be instead. It asks if some degree of authoritarianism is the need of the hour to address potentially existential issues facing the human race. Readers are encouraged to analyse the state of democracy in their own countries and verify if it meets their expectations, or if it is just a myth or an imposter, or a necessary but imperfect compulsion in the absence of a perfect alternative. The book presents a commentary on the state of democracy in some of the world’s leading democracies. It aims to challenge the human mind, which seems to be getting accustomed to not having to think, thanks to a constant bombardment of information—real and fake and in-between—that it receives through social and print media, which is freely accessible through smartphone to which it has become addicted. It discusses how the drivers of capitalism – through their business-like connections with powerful and influential politicians and celebrities—could be cleverly manipulating the gullible human mind and exploiting the system to their own material benefit.

Fractional Programming

Mathematical programming has know a spectacular diversification in the last few decades. This process has happened both at the level of mathematical research and at the level of the applications generated by the solution methods that were created. To write a monograph dedicated to a certain domain of mathematical programming is, under such circumstances, especially difficult. In the present monograph we opt for the domain of fractional programming. Interest of this subject was generated by the fact that various optimization problems from engineering and economics consider the minimization of a ratio between physical and/or economical functions, for example cost/time, cost/volume,cost/profit, ...

SECULAR, SOCIALIST & RELIGION IN INDIA - THE MISCONCEPTIONS

Constituent Assembly Debates, which made the Constitution of India, are the original source to understanding how the Constitution was made. The debates are bold and blunt, conducted using soft expressions and language. Rather than reading the Constitution as it is, what we discovered over the last fifty years of its adoption is that it is read differently, suiting the persons of the political parties speaking as they selectively suppress the spirit of the Letters. Terms such as socialist" and "secular were later inserted in the Preamble through the 42nd Amendment in 1976 and that opened up Pandora's box. Unfortunate derivation continued to progress, opening up opportunities to influence the ...

India's Futuristic Democracy - Threats of Constitutional Gaps and Digital Era

India is moving towards becoming an intelligent and industrious nation in the world but unmoving in its installing pillars, political stability and communal conflagration. Every citizen’s welfare is the only way to make the nation great. A nation is built not by one Faith but by all the Faiths together as an integral part of the Nation. On 15th August 2022, we celebrated 75th Year of our Independence that looked decorative than democratic. Former is showmanship and latter is workmanship. Nation’s wealth should make all the sectors healthy. The Constitution defines Constituents or Organs but not the Pillars or the making up the Gaps. The Gaps which our Constitution makers left open was to test the sensibility, prudence and wisdom of the generations to come. The Gaps have the strength to generate orderliness in the democracy. Their ignorance or indifference masked the working of democracy.
