Heather & Avery and the Magic Kite
Heather & Avery and the Magic Kite is about two young cousins who want to fly kites, but there is only one in the garage. Since they both want the kite, they grab it at the same time and this propels them into a field under a stormy sky where they meet Benjamin Franklin flying his kite. While in Philadelphia the cousins learn about electrified air and experiments with lightening. When Avery says to just turn on the light for electricity, the cousins find themselves back in their garage with their kite. There is a time line of Ben Franklin at the end of the book.

Heather & Avery and the Bicycle Shop
Heather & Avery and the Bicycle Shop is about two young cousins who are riding their bikes when Avery crashes his bike into a tree. While retrieving the tire that has fallen off, they grab for the tire at the same time. This propels them outside the Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop in Dayton, Ohio where they meet the Wright Brothers and learn about bikes, wheels, and flying things. When Avery suggests they can buy an airplane ticket if they want to fly, the kids are back on the sidewalk with Averys repaired tire. There is a Wright Brothers time line at the end of the book.
