The medical community has a unique opportunity to intervene, but many health care professionals need more training to recognize the abuse, tools to intervene and information on where to refer victims for additional assistance. This study alerts such professionals to signs of abuse and helps prepare them to deal sensitively and appropriately with the needs of victims. The author provides vital information on the impact that examination and documentation may have upon subsequent prosecution of the batterer, while sample questions and forms assist examiners to record the most accurate information possible. Betwixt and Between identifies the biases, errors and ambiguities that have run rampant in the biographies on Mary Wollstonecraft, many of them left unchecked and perpetuated from publication to publication. Betwixt and Between synthesizes the biographies, exposes gaps and contradictions, and attempts to fill and reconcile them, supplying in the process considerable information on Wollstonecraft that has never before been published.
