Estos conceptos han replanteado y orientado las discusiones y reflexiones planteadas en el presente tomo a partir de enfoques alternativos como el ecologismo, la integración energética, la relación desarrollo-autonomía y el colonialismo intelectual en un contexto de modernidad líquida, los cuales, dada la relevancia y pertinencia de nuevos actores, han dado paso a fortalecer la paradiplomacia en el actual escenario al que se asiste. En este sentido, las discusiones retoman variaciones y reconceptualizaciones en medio de los actuales debates que acompañan el marco conceptual y la realidad en materia de integración regional desde las particularidades de la región latinoamericana.

Son of Escobar: First Born
Pablo Escobar was the most notorious drug lord the world has ever seen. He became one of the ten richest men on the planet and controlled 80 per cent of the global cocaine trade before he was shot dead in 1993. In 1965, a secret mission by Colombian Special Forces, led by an MI6 agent, to recover a cash hoard from a safe house used by a young Pablo Escobar culminates in a shoot-out leaving many dead. Escobar and several of his men escape. Only a baby survives, Roberto Sendoya Escobar. In a bizarre twist of fate, the MI6 agent takes pity on the child, brings him home and later adopts him. Anthropological Perspectives on Intangible Cultural Heritage
A decade after the approval of the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), the concept has gained wide acceptance at the local, national and international levels. Communities are recognizing and celebrating their Intangible Heritage; governments are devoting important efforts to the construction of national inventories; and anthropologists and professionals from different disciplines are forming a new field of study. The ten chapters of this book include the peer-reviewed papers of the First Planning Meeting of the International Social Science Council’s Commission on Research on ICH, which was held at the Centro Regional de Investigaciones Multidisciplinarias (UNAM) in Cuernavaca, Mexico in 2012. The papers are based on fieldwork and direct involvement in assessing and reconceptualizing the outcomes of the UNESCO Convention. The report in Appendix 1 highlights the main points raised during the sessions.
