Adorning The Darkness

"While it may sound cliche', I truly am humbled by this opportunity to be allowed to use the stunning photos of Riya Albert in this book. For a while, I have seen her photos shared on social media and was always amazed by how the genius of the photographer was evident in how they captured so much in every image. I was equally struck by how Riya Albert conveyed so much through her eyes, and various expressions. When I write, I am writing about what many people miss in others and putting words to what many cannot. I'm inspired by what the eyes, facial expressions, and body language say about a person. With Riya Albert, she fit perfectly with many poems I had written in the past. One of the coolest things is that I write on a wide range of topic's and her, along with her photographer, managed to capture all those in different ways. Which is incredible in itself. So when I approached Riya about using her pictures in a book along with my poetry, she made my day by saying yes. So here it is. I'm absolutely thrilled by how it turned out and hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed putting it together."Stephen D. Rhoades(S.D.R.)Shakespeare's Raven 2

Dining With Skeletons is a book of poems that describe my daily battle with depression, suicidal thoughts, and P.T.S.D. You will enter into the darker side of poetry within these pages. You also will be very surprised at how many of the poems you will relate to. What I do here is put into words what many can't.

Bank Mergers and Banking Structure in the United States, 1980-98

After 1980, the U.S. banking industry experienced a sustained and unprecedented level of merger activity that has substantially affected banking structure. From 1980 through 1998, there were approx. 8,000 mergers, involving about $2.4 trillion in acquired assets. From 1990 to 1999 several mergers occurred that, at the time of occurrence, were the largest bank mergers in U.S. history. This report describes various facets of bank merger activity and some of the changes in U.S. banking structure that occurred from 1980 through 1998. A primary force underlying the sustained merger movement in banking since 1980 was the gradual removal of state and federal restrictions on geographic expansion in banking. Charts and tables.

The Economist's View of the World

This book explains and assesses the ways in which micro, welfare and benefit-cost economists view the world of public policy. In general terms, microeconomic concepts and models can be seen to appear regularly in the work of political scientists, sociologists and psychologists. As a consequence, these and related concepts and models have now had sufficient time to influence strongly and to extend the range of policy options available to government departments. The central focus of this book is the 'cross-over' from economic modelling to policy implementation, which remains obscure and uncertain. The author outlines the importance of a wider knowledge of microeconomics for improving the effects and orientation of public policy. He also provides a critique of some basic economic assumptions, notably the 'consumer sovereignty principle'. Within this context the reader is in a better position to understand the 'marvellous insights and troubling blindnesses' of economists where often what is controversial politically is not so controversial among economists.
