Accidents involving reactive chemicals can often be prevented, or their effects alleviated, if those handling them have a sound knowledge both of their hazardous properties and of appropriate handling methods. This book addresses this need. It opens with a definition of the key technical terms and evaluation methods for hazardous materials are outlined. Chapter 2 covers accidents involving self-reactive substances, accidents occurring during chemical reactions, and accidents involving hazardous products in the event of an earthquake. The values and behaviors of the Japanese businessman--and of the Japanese in general--are quite diverse and keep changing, making it difficult for anyone (including the Japanese themselves) to truly understand why they act the way they do. The Eight Core Values of the Japanese Businessman saves readers time and effort when pursuing business opportunities in Japan because it identifies the core values of the Japanese businessman, ranging from the obvious and public, “Diligence,” to the more private, “Silence as Eloquence” and “Perception of Time.” After identifying these eight core values, Yasutaka Sai explores the history and modern interpretation of each. Challenges and Current Research Status of Vertigo/Vestibular Diseases

Vertigo or vestibular disorders have become a common handicap across the globe, which poses a great burden on health care resources. Vertigo is not a disease entity per se, but rather a leading symptom of many etiologically different diseases. These conditions include dysfunction of the vestibular system, both peripheral (inner ear, vestibular nerve) and central (brainstem, cerebellum), functional dizziness, and diseases of other causes, including blood pressure regulation disorders, such as orthostatic dizziness, and adverse drug reactions. Previous studies demonstrated that vestibular disorders might be a modifiable condition and a possible target for secondary prevention of cognitive impairment due to aging, dementia, social isolation, late-life depression, frailty, and increased risk of mortality.
