Das Kompetenzzentrum Denkmalwissenschaften und Denkmaltechnologien (KDWT) wurde als zentrale Forschungseinrichtung der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg im Frühjahr 2016 gegründet. 0Mit dem ersten Band der Reihe?Berichte des KDWT? wird die fachlich vielfältige Tätigkeit der ersten zweieinhalb Jahre seit dem Bestehen des Kompetenzzentrums in farbig illustrierter Form vorgelegt. 0Es werden die grundlegenden Ziele und Profilierungsschwerpunkte eines jeden Faches geschildert und Forschungsvorhaben vorgestellt - von der Denkmalpflege, den digitalen Denkmaltechnologien über die Bauforshcung bis hin zur Restaurierungswissenschaft.

The Competence Center for Monument Sciences and Monument Technologies (KDWT) was founded in spring 2016 as the central research facility of the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg. The core tasks of the KDWT are the expansion of knowledge and technology transfer to non-university research institutions, business and craft, the expansion of technical competence, the expansion of the range of courses, the content and technical equipment support in research, teaching, transfer and service as well in the internationalization of research. The center is divided into four work areas.
Jesus the Purifier
The third quest for the historical Jesus has reached an impasse. But a fourth quest is underway--one that draws from a heretofore largely neglected source: John's Gospel. In this book, renowned New Testament scholar Craig Blomberg advances the idea that John is a viable and valuable source for studying the historical Jesus. The data from John should be integrated with that of the Synoptics, which will yield additional insights into Jesus's emphases and ministry. Blomberg begins by reviewing the first three quests, reassessing both their contributions and their shortcomings. He then discusses the emerging consensus regarding demonstrably historical portions of John, which are more numerous than usually assumed. Peeling back the layers, we discover in Jesus's ministry an emphasis on purity and purification. The Synoptics corroborate this discovery, specifically in Jesus's meals with sinners. Blomberg then explores the practical and contemporary applications of Jesus the purifier, including the "contagious holiness" that Jesus's followers can spread to others.
