The welcome culture of 2015 in Germany has, not least due to the (re)definition of safe countries of origin, turned into a deportation policy. How can this change in policy be understood and is it also accompanied by a change of attitude among the population? Which reasons for and which reasons against the admission of refugees are cited in social debates? This volume brings together analyses of the social discourse on dealing with refugees, questions of labour market integration and the practice of counselling refugees. Alongside academic analyses are reflective contributions from the practice of migration policy. This book is a translation of an original German edition. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation.

Impact: Design With All Senses
This book reflects and expands on the current trend in the building industry to understand, simulate and ultimately design buildings by taking into consideration the interlinked elements and forces that act on them. Shifting away from the traditional focus, which was exclusively on building tasks, this approach presents new challenges in all areas of the industry, from material and structural to the urban scale. The book presents contributions including research papers and case studies, providing a comprehensive overview of the field as well as perspectives from related disciplines, such as computer science. The chapter authors were invited speakers at the 7th Symposium “Impact: Design With All Senses”, which took place at the University of the Arts in Berlin in September 2019.

Wie lässt sich dieser Politikwandel verstehen und geht er auch mit einem Gesinnungswandel in der Bevölkerung einher? Welche Gründe für und welche gegen die Aufnahme von Flüchtigen gibt es bzw. werden in den Debatten angeführt? Dieser Band versammelt Analysen zum gesellschaftlichen Diskurs im Umgang mit Flüchtlingen, zu Fragen der Arbeitsmarktintegration und zur Praxis der Beratung von Flüchtlingen. Neben wissenschaftlichen Analysen stehen reflektierende Beiträge aus der Praxis der Migrationspolitik.
