Major PUjAs in South India - Tamil Nadu (neivEdyams) Part II

There were innumerable requests from acquaintances both in India and abroad, including my own daughters in law to publish for them a suitable book covering the neivEdyams that are necessary for pUjAs. Besides, my husband, wanted to separate this section from his book on performing pUjAs to enable males to conduct them while the ladies could use a separate book for preparing neivEdyams. Accordingly, this book is written to form Part II of his book, "Major PUjAs in South India - Tamil Nadu (Procedures) Part I" and covers all neivEdyams (offerings) needed for pUjAs. Most of the items also form the savouries and snakes needed for evening munching as such everyone will be benefited by this book. You cannot find such an informative book and guide in this category, which is also well illustrated, anywhere. It is an asset not only to you but also to the posterity. Keeping in mind its usefulness to all, its price has been fixed at the minimum level possible.

Every area of science and engineering today has to process voluminous data sets. Using exact, or even approximate, algorithms to solve intractable problems in critical areas, such as computational biology, takes time that is exponential in some of the underlying parameters. Parallel computing addresses this issue and has become affordable with the

Nanoscience for Sustainable Agriculture

This book discusses the ability of nanomaterials to protect crop-plant and animal health, increase production, and enhance the quality of food and other agricultural products. It explores the use of targeted delivery and slow- release agrochemicals to reduce the damage to non-target organisms and the quantity released into the soil and water, as well as nanotechnology-derived tools in the field of plant and animal genetic improvement. It also addresses future applications of nanotechnology in sustainable agriculture and the legislative regulation and safety evaluation of nanomaterials. The book highlights the recent advances made in nanotechnology and its contribution towards an eco-friendly approach in agriculture.

The saturation of design complexity and clock frequencies for single-core processors has resulted in the emergence of multicore architectures as an alternative design paradigm. Nowadays, multicore/multithreaded computing systems are not only a de-facto standard for high-end applications, they are also gaining popularity in the field of embedded computing. The start of the multicore era has altered the concepts relating to almost all of the areas of computer architecture design, including core design, memory management, thread scheduling, application support, inter-processor communication, debugging, and power management. This book gives readers a holistic overview of the field and guides them to further avenues of research by covering the state of the art in this area. It includes contributions from industry as well as academia.

Infinite Vision

“A must-read for anyone interested in leadership, service, and the building of institutions that release the best energies of the human spirit.” —Jacqueline Novogratz, New York Times-bestselling author When a crippling disease shattered his lifelong ambition, Dr. V (Venkataswamy) chose an impossible new dream: to cure the world of blindness. The tiny clinic he founded in India defied conventional business logic and is now the largest provider of eye care on the planet. At Aravind, patients choose whether to pay or not. Millions are treated for free, yet the organization remains stunningly self-reliant. Serving everyone from penniless farmers to the president, it delivers world-class ou...

An in-depth overview of an emerging field that brings together high-performance computing, big data processing, and deep lLearning. Over the last decade, the exponential explosion of data known as big data has changed the way we understand and harness the power of data. The emerging field of high-performance big data computing, which brings together high-performance computing (HPC), big data processing, and deep learning, aims to meet the challenges posed by large-scale data processing. This book offers an in-depth overview of high-performance big data computing and the associated technical issues, approaches, and solutions. The book covers basic concepts and necessary background knowledge, ...

A Primer on Memory Persistency

This book introduces readers to emerging persistent memory (PM) technologies that promise the performance of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) with the durability of traditional storage media, such as hard disks and solid-state drives (SSDs). Persistent memories (PMs), such as Intel's Optane DC persistent memories, are commercially available today. Unlike traditional storage devices, PMs can be accessed over a byte-addressable load-store interface with access latency that is comparable to DRAM. Unfortunately, existing hardware and software systems are ill-equipped to fully avail the potential of these byte-addressable memory technologies as they have been designed to access traditional sto...

This book aims at the tiny machine learning (TinyML) software and hardware synergy for edge intelligence applications. It presents on-device learning techniques covering model-level neural network design, algorithm-level training optimization, and hardware-level instruction acceleration. Analyzing the limitations of conventional in-cloud computing would reveal that on-device learning is a promising research direction to meet the requirements of edge intelligence applications. As to the cutting-edge research of TinyML, implementing a high-efficiency learning framework and enabling system-level acceleration is one of the most fundamental issues. This book presents a comprehensive discussion of...
